Homecare For Your Styling

It is essential that the scalp is clean and well nourished. When the hair follicle on the scalp is full of sebum or blocked by dead skin, it will have an impact on the quality of hair growth.

Styling should start with a clean scalp. Wash the scalp and hair thoroughly using the Nubian Crown Deep Cleansing Shampoo. This will remove dirt, product build-up and ensure a clean canvas is created so the hair and scalp can absorb the goodness of conditioning products.
After deep cleansing, apply the Nubian Crown Moisturising Conditioner for optimum nourishment. Afterall your hair will be in a protective style for a couple of weeks, so ideally the scalp should be clean and the hair well nourished.

After rising out the Nubian Crown Moisturising Conditioner, apply a leave-in conditioner, and seal off with a butter.
Once the hair is clean and well moisturised, install twists, braids or crochet styling. As you install, spray the hair with a mist of water regularly to re-hydrate, thereby promoting elasticity and minimising breakage.

Depending on the level of your physical activity, wash your hair weekly using a conditioning cleanser or co-wash. This is great for keeping your hair and scalp clean without stripping it of essential oils.

It is good to apply a moisturizing oil such as the Nubian Crown Hair and Scalp Oil to the scalp as part of your homecare routine. This will nourish your scalp and hair without creating build-up, while it is in a protective scalp.
